Frequently Asked Questions
Can you ship pottery?
I can. Though because of expensive shipping costs ($12-20 domestic US shipping). I prefer to sell locally in Western Washington.
do you take commissions?
Depending on your request! If your request is close to my existing works, and are flexible on timelines (6-8 weeks) I would be happy to oblige. Send me an email in the form above and we can discuss more. For commissions I request 50% payment upfront and 50% upon delivery. Depending on the complexity of your work.
What is pottery?
The material I use is called porcelain, which is a finer-grained clay. Like biscotti cookies, pots get fired twice. Clay is baked twice (like biscotti cookies). First to harden the clay and cement the shape. I then glaze a glass-like coating to the pot and it gets fired a second time to nearly 2,200 degrees Fahrenheit. This second fire makes the clay and glazes melt, fusing together to form a beautiful piece of ceramics that can last a lifetime.
